This article summarizes the best available evidence for targeted management of body temperature in patients with severe neurological disease. Researchers systematically searched databases and sources to identify relevant clinical decisions, guidelines, consensus statements, systematic reviews and evidence summaries. A total of 20 documents were analyzed, resulting in 27 best practices. These procedures cover six areas: preparation, initiation, maintenance, management of complications, warm-up, and prognosis. The results provide healthcare professionals with a basis for evidence-based decision-making in the management of body temperature in neurocritical patients. The goal is to optimize care for this vulnerable group of patients.
