Illinois surgeon Michael David McKee was charged with murdering his ex-wife Monique Tepe and her dentist husband Spencer Tepe in a December shooting at their home in Columbus, Ohio.[1][2] McKee has pleaded not guilty and agrees to be extradited to Ohio, but wishes to remain silent.[1] Dashcam footage led to the identification of his vehicle in Rockford, Illinois, where he was arrested.[1][2] The couple planned to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary in January 2026.[1] The indictment concerns two premeditated murders, initially one serious charge was expanded on January 11.[1][2] McKee works as a vascular surgeon at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.[1] Small children were found safe in the home.[2] He previously faced multiple allegations of medical malpractice and negligence.[1]
