US medical and public health groups have filed a lawsuit to stop changes to the childhood vaccination schedule overseen by US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The coalition filed a legislative proposal to overturn the changes, which were approved by the government's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). This ACIP meeting is scheduled for February 25-26. American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) President Andrew Racine said in a statement that children's health depends on vaccine recommendations based on rigorous and transparent science. According to him, the recent decisions violate the federal standard and lead to the abandonment of life-saving vaccines. These changes weaken the protection of the community. The statement was also accompanied by the president of Infectious Diseases, Ronald Nahass.
