Global Health Watch 7 (GHW7) is a publication of the Human Health Movement that offers critical analysis of global health and examines the political, economic, environmental, and social factors affecting health.[1][2] The issue deals with deep inequalities and the environmental crisis, which are interconnected with humanity's health crisis.[1] GHW7 focuses on the so-called "polycrisis" – a syndrome of multiple crises, including growing inequalities, deteriorating environmental conditions, mass displacement of people, and the rise of autocratic regimes, which will outnumber democracies in 2024 for the first time in more than two decades.[2] The publication is not only a critical analysis, but also offers alternatives such as welfare economies and ecosocialist frameworks.[1] The third edition of GHW7 is distinguished by the fact that almost all chapters were created with contributions from different geographical regions of the Human Health Movement, making it an exercise in movement building.[2] The publication also points to specific threats, such as the US exit from the World Health Organization and the weakening of climate commitments, which will have serious health consequences.[2]
