A survey of 117 medical students at the University of Lübeck in Germany investigated their preferences for digital education in obstetrics and gynecology during the summer of 2023. Up to 96% of students preferred a hybrid learning method that allows participation either online or in person, while only 1.7% preferred exclusively in-person participation. Online learning tools were rated as very valuable by 80% of students. They most often used them to prepare for exams (92%), deepen specific topics (70%), catch up on missed lectures (72%) and review the curriculum (71%). At the same time, students still highly value traditional practical exercises and teaching at the patient's bedside. The results suggest that digital forms of education, such as on-demand lectures, are increasingly important to students and can help modernize teaching in obstetrics and gynecology[1].
