Nepal increases domestic spending on TB program after losing 30% of budget. These cuts in aid lead to job losses and cuts to health services. The program is facing serious problems due to funding cuts. The Finance Ministry has set an expenditure ceiling of 83 billion rupees for the Ministry of Health and Population for the next fiscal year 2025-26, which is 3 billion rupees less than the current year. The cuts threaten priority programs including tuberculosis, HIV, vaccination and epidemic control. Officials warn of undermining Nepal's international commitments. Samaan Lateef reports from Kathmandu.[4]
