The study evaluated 15 patients (10 men, 5 women) treated with thin biocompatible Biofibre® 4.0 artificial hair implants with a diameter of 0.08 mm and a length of 160 to 460 mm. The hair was implanted under the scalp at the level of the galea aponeurotica. Biocompatibility was very good, with no allergic reactions or significant skin problems. Patients rated the outcome on a 4-point scale, with an average satisfaction score of 3.1; five patients were very satisfied, seven satisfied, two somewhat satisfied and one dissatisfied. Implantation of thinner artificial hair was safe and well tolerated, with better fiber softness and elasticity. During the annual follow-up, the rate of loss of implanted hair was also monitored. The results confirm the efficacy and safety of Biofibre® 4.0 in the treatment of androgenic alopecia in both men and women, while improving the aesthetic appearance and psychological well-being of patients.
