Dengue is the most widespread mosquito-borne disease in the world, caused by the DENV virus. Currently, there is no specific treatment or medicine in tablet form to treat dengue. The article discusses the development of a possible treatment in the form of a tablet that could alleviate the course of the disease. Research is focused on antiviral drugs that could stop the virus from spreading in the body. The results of preclinical studies show that some experimental drugs can reduce the amount of virus in animals. Clinical trials are currently underway to verify the safety and effectiveness of these drugs in humans. If the drugs prove effective, they could become an important tool in the fight against dengue.
